Choosing Wedding Favors
47Make it Personal
There are so many options when choosing your wedding favors. There is so much more than the traditional organza bags filled with mints. The best way to choose is to make it suit your personalities and interests. If you are golfers, give golf balls and tees. If you like to entertain, you can give coasters, candles, or soap. There are trinket boxes, mouse pads, and salt and pepper shakers. You can do a search and visit websites for hundreds of ideas and options. If you have a tight budget, there are sites that tell you how to make your own wedding favors for little money.
My niece had a candy table set up at her wedding and guests were given a folded cardboard container, that could be opened into a sort of box, and guests could fill their boxes from the choices of candy. Of course they were personalized with the names of the bride and groom.
A friend gave a small bottle of wine with a ribbon tied around it to each guest to thank them for coming. The placecards were inside small photo frames.
My favorite: kissing bells that you ring anytime you want the bridge and groom to kiss. Instead of tapping your glass, you just pick up the bells. Very cute.
Your favors can be elegant, simple, practical, or unique. The sky is the limit and the possibilities are endless.
